GENERAL QUESTIONS

 

• What is a Doula? A doula provides physical and practical support, emotional support, and information and perspective. A doula can help when it comes to carrying out the birth plan and facilitating the most positive birth experience possible.

 

• Isn’t that what my husband/partner/boyfriend/girlfriend/mom/grandma/aunt/etc. Is for? Your doula should not take the place of the partner or other family members. She will work with your birth team to achieve the birth that you desire.

 

• What types of births do you attend? All types of births! I attend home births, birthing centers, and hospital births. I also provide support for medicated or unmedicated births with doctors or midwives.

 

• Do you travel? I am comfortable seeing clients living outside the Baton Rouge area who chose to travel to Baton Rouge to give birth or choose to have a HOME BIRTH. However, I cannot travel to hospitals outside of EBR Parish due to the unpredictable nature of birth. Anything over 30 miles from my home address​ is an additional $.50/mile **I live near downtown Baton Rouge, so it takes about 30-40 minutes to get anywhere (within 30 miles)**
