What do I need to bring to the hospital?

I like to think I am a minimalist (that tends to over pack), so I am only listing things that are MUST HAVES!

birth plan (several copies)
hospital paperwork if you aren’t pre-registered
insurance and ID
socks, socks, and more socks. They may get ruined. So you can just toss them when you are done with them.
nightgown to labor in, something comfortable and loose. If you labor in the pool or tub, you might prefer to wear sports bra.
rebozo
comfortable clothes for day two, slouchy pajama pants, or an over-sized t-shirt, whatever is super comfortable (if you have a C section, you cannot wear pants)
1 or 2 nursing tanks
nursing pads, I personally enjoy the re-usable cloth ones, but to each’s own.
nipple cream
chap stick
hair bands
your pillow
going home outfit for yourself, something cute for pictures, yet comfortable for the ride home.
toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, deodorant)
glasses/contacts
phone and charger
Ipad or laptop and charger
camera and charger
2 or 3 onesies for baby and socks
car seat approved for baby and installed properly by a car seat tech
seasonally appropriate baby blanket (here in Louisiana it is usually a muslin blanket)
partner needs change of clothes
swim clothes for the tub
